4-I guide
In this ayah Allah swears by the fig and the olive, two special fruits that invite us to look closely at plants.
Start with bismillah.
Put a fig (fresh or dried) and an olive (or a little olive oil) on a plate. Smell them. Taste them if you like. Ask: "Of all the fruits in the world, why might Allah mention these two?"
Watch the video about figs and the tiny wasps that help them. Did you know a fruit and an insect could need each other like that?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do you notice about how this surah begins?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How do the fig and the wasp know how to help each other?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tin is surah 95, and its name means "the fig". Find ayah 1.
Fact: In which countries do fig and olive trees grow best, and how long can an olive tree live?
Ages 5–8: A grown-up cuts a fig in half. Look inside with a magnifying glass. Draw what you see. What do the tiny bits inside look like?
Ages 9–12: Make a comparison table for the fig and the olive: taste, what is inside, the seeds, and all the ways people use each one (food, oil, soap, lamps…). Which list is longer?
Finish with: "I found that the fig ___ and the olive ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, at ___, I will thank Allah for one fruit and share it with ___."
Action: Share a fruit and say why you are thankful for it.

An adult does the cutting. Check for food allergies before tasting.
