Allah swears by the Moon when it grows full.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you noticed the Moon changing shape through the month?"
Watch the SciShow Kids video "Why Does the Moon Change?".
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does Allah swear by here?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does the Moon grow full and then shrink?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Inshiqaq is surah 84. Find ayah 18. The key words idha ittasaq mean when it becomes full and complete. The Islamic months follow the Moon.
Fact: How many days does it take the Moon to go from new to full?
Ages 5–8: Moon diary. Draw the Moon every clear night for two weeks. Watch it grow!
Ages 9–12: Islamic calendar. Find out how the Islamic months are linked to the Moon. When is the next full moon?
Finish with: "I found that the Moon takes about ___ days to become full."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will practise one skill a little every day."
Action: Practise one skill a little every day.
