Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Who is the kindest person you know? What do they do that makes them so good?"

Watch the opening of the BBC Earth video about animals working as a team. (Watch the first few minutes.)

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which two things make someone so special in Allah's sight?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Can a child be among the finest of creation?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Bayyinah is surah 98. Find ayah 7. The key words khayr al-bariyyah mean "the finest of creation". Look for the two things joined together: believing and doing good.

Fact: Which animals in the video help each other, and how?

Ages 5–8: Good deed jar. Write or draw one good deed on a slip of paper each day and drop it in a jar.

Ages 9–12: Plant something. Plant a seed or sapling and plan how you will care for it for a month. Who will benefit from it one day?

Finish with: "I found that believing and doing good go together like ___."

Talk together:

• Why does Allah join believing with doing good?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What small good deed could make someone's whole day better?
• How do animals help each other without being asked?
• Who in your life shows you how to believe and do good?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will do ___ for ___ without being asked."

• Put out water or seeds for the birds.
• Tell someone at home what you love about the way they help others.
• Next time: the next ayah (98:8) describes their reward. Explore it together!

Action: Fill your good deed jar and count the slips on Friday.
