4-I guide
This ayah describes that person: they give their wealth to make themselves pure.
Start with bismillah.
Show a plant with a dead or overgrown branch. Ask: "What would happen if we cut that off carefully?"
Watch the RHS video about pruning, and why cutting back helps plants grow stronger.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why does this person give?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can giving something away make me better?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Layl is surah 92. Find ayah 18. The key word yatazakka means to purify yourself. It is related to the word zakah.
Fact: Why does pruning help a plant grow more flowers or fruit?
Ages 5–8: Tidy and give. Sort your toys or books. Choose three in good condition to give to someone who would love them.
Ages 9–12: Prune with care. With an adult, deadhead (snip off) old flowers on a plant. Check over two weeks: do new flowers appear?
Finish with: "I found that pruning helps because ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will give away ___ to ___."
Action: Give away the toys or books you chose.

Only use secateurs or scissors with an adult.
