Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What do animals need from us to be safe and well?"

Watch the WildFilmsIndia video of a herd of camels drinking at a water trough.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the messenger warn them about?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why was this camel so special?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ash-Shams is surah 91. Find ayah 13. The key words naqat Allah mean the she-camel of Allah, a special sign sent to the people of Thamud. Ask your teacher to tell you more.

Fact: How much water can a thirsty camel drink in one go?

Ages 5–8: Water bowls. With an adult, put out a shallow dish of water for birds in your garden or on a balcony. Who visits?

Ages 9–12: Animal care. Find out what a pet or farm animal needs each day: water, food, shelter, care. Make a care chart.

Finish with: "I found that a camel can drink ___ litres at once."

Talk together:

• Why is it important to be kind to animals?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What happens when people don't care for animals Allah made?
• How can we help animals near us?
• What would you like to ask an ustaz or ustazah about the she-camel?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will help an animal by ___."

• Never tease or hurt an animal.
• Show someone your animal care chart.
• Next time: the next ayah (91:14) tells what happened next. Explore it together!

Action: Keep your bird water dish topped up.
