4-I guide
This ayah ends Surah Al-Balad: over them will be a Fire, closed in on every side.
Start with bismillah.
A gentle note for parents: this ayah is a serious warning. Keep it calm and short, and spend most of the time on fire safety and on the good deeds in ayat 13 to 17.
Ask: "What three things does a fire need to burn?"
Watch the HASpod video about the fire triangle: heat, fuel and oxygen.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How does the surah end?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I stay far from the Fire?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Balad is surah 90. Find ayah 20, the last one. The key word mu'sadah means closed in, shut on every side.
Fact: Why does a fire blanket or a lid put out a small pan fire?
Ages 5–8: Fire triangle. Draw a triangle and write heat, fuel and oxygen on the three sides. Which one does water take away?
Ages 9–12: Safety plan. Find out what to do if a pan catches fire (never use water!). Write a short safety card for your kitchen.
In the kitchen, a lid puts a fire out. In this ayah it is the opposite: a Fire shut tight with no way out. Allah tells us this as a serious warning, out of mercy, so that we choose the right path now while we can.
Finish with: "I found that a fire needs ___, ___ and ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do one 'steep path' deed: feed someone, help someone or show mercy."
Action: Do one 'steep path' deed: feed someone, help someone or show mercy.

Children should never handle fire. If a pan catches fire, tell an adult straight away and never throw water on it.
