Start with bismillah.

A gentle note for parents: this ayah is a warning. Point out the words "and then did not repent": the door to turning back was open.

Ask: "Have you ever broken something and fixed it? Was it as strong afterwards?"

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Buruj is surah 85. Find ayah 10. The key words thumma lam yatubu mean "and then did not repent". Allah leaves the door of repentance open for anyone who sincerely turns back to Him.
