4-I guide
Surah Al-Mutaffifin opens with a warning to people who cheat when they weigh and measure.
Start with bismillah.
Hold a book in each hand. Ask: "Which one is heavier? Could someone trick you if you were in a hurry?"
Watch the Next Generation Science video about comparing masses with a balance.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who is this ayah warning?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah care about weighing things fairly?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mutaffifin is surah 83, and it has thirty-six ayat. Find ayah 1. The surah is named after the key word al-mutaffifin: people who cheat by giving a little less than they should.
Fact: How does a balance scale show which side is heavier?
Ages 5–8: Fair split. With a kitchen scale, share 200 grams of grapes into two bowls so each has exactly the same.
Ages 9–12: Fair test. Weigh the same apple on two different scales. Do they agree? Why might they not?
Finish with: "I found that a balance shows the heavier side by ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be completely fair when I share or take turns."
Action: Be completely fair when you share or take turns.
