4-I guide
Then Allah splits the earth open.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How can a soft, tiny root crack a hard rock?"
Watch the Learn Bright video about weathering. (Watch the part about plants.)
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What happens to the earth?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How do plants push through hard ground?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah 'Abasa is surah 80. Find ayah 26. The key words shaqaqna al-arda shaqqa mean We split the earth open. Roots and shoots break through the ground, and rocks slowly turn into soil.
Fact: How do tree roots break rocks over time?
Ages 5–8: Seed power. Fill a small plastic pot with dry beans, add water, cover tightly and wait a day. What happens?
Ages 9–12: Weathering. Find out three ways rocks are broken into soil (roots, ice, water).
Finish with: "I found that roots break rocks by ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will keep going at something hard, little by little."
Action: Keep going at something hard, little by little.
