4-I guide
This ayah invites us to look closely at our food and wonder how it reaches our plate.
Start with bismillah.
Put one slice of bread (or a spoonful of rice) on a plate in the middle of the table. Ask: "Where was this before the shop? And before that? And before that?" Keep going back until nobody knows.
Watch the short video about seeds. What surprised you about how seeds start their journey?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is this ayah asking us to do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does a tiny seed know how to become a plant?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah 'Abasa is surah 80. Find ayah 24, then read the translation of the next few ayat. Which foods can you spot?
Fact: How long does it take for a wheat or rice seed to grow into a plant that is ready to harvest?
Ages 5–8: Grow a bean. Soak three dried beans overnight, then put them in a clear cup on a damp paper towel. Draw them every day. What comes out first: the root or the shoot?
Ages 9–12: Draw a food journey map. Pick one food from today's meal and draw every step from seed to plate. Count how many people helped, and how many of Allah's creations helped (sun, rain, soil, bees…).
Finish with: "I found that my ___ needed ___ to reach my plate."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "At ___ (which meal) this week, I will show thanks for my food by ___, with ___."
Action: Practise your plan at that meal every day this week.

Bean in a jar: line a clear jar with damp kitchen paper, slide in two soaked beans, and keep it near a window. Check and water a little each day. Draw the changes on a calendar.
Keep dried beans away from toddlers (choking risk); an adult supervises.
