Surah An-Nazi'at opens with an oath by the angels who pull out firmly.
Start with bismillah.
A gentle note for parents: ayat 1 and 2 are about angels at the end of life. Keep it short and calm. The main message is that Allah is in charge of every life, and believers are treated gently.
Try to pull up a weed with long roots (with gloves). Ask: "Why is it so hard to pull out?"
Watch the Next Generation Science video about what roots do.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does Allah swear by?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Who are the ones who pull out?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nazi'at is surah 79, and it has forty-six ayat. Find ayah 1. The surah is named after the key word an-nazi'at: those who pull out. Many scholars explain that these are angels who take the souls of wrongdoers firmly at the end of life.
Fact: How deep can tree roots grow?
Ages 5–8: Root pull. Grow cress on cotton wool. After a week, gently lift one out. Look at its roots.
Ages 9–12: Root jobs. List three jobs roots do for a plant.
Finish with: "I found that roots can grow as deep as ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make a dua for a good life and a good end."
Action: Make a dua for a good life and a good end.

Wear gloves when pulling up weeds, and ask an adult which plants are safe.
