That shadow gives no cool shade and no protection from the flames.
Start with bismillah.
On a sunny day, stand in the sun, then under a tree. Ask: "How does the shade feel?"
Watch the Credit Valley Conservation video How Trees Cool Cities.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What can that shadow not do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is real shade such a gift?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mursalat is surah 77. Find ayah 31. The key words la zalil mean no shade. The shadow of the Fire gives no cooling at all. On Earth, Allah gives us trees whose shade truly cools us.
Fact: How much cooler is it under a tree on a hot day?
Ages 5–8: Two cups. Leave one cup of water in the sun and one under a tree for an hour. Feel them. Which is cooler?
Ages 9–12: Temperature walk. Measure the temperature in the sun and under a tree. Write the difference.
Finish with: "I found that shade under a tree is ___ degrees cooler."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will water a tree or plant one."
Action: Water a tree or plant one.
