إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَلَا شُكُورًا
'Innamā nuṭ'ʻimukum' liwaj'hi -llahi lā nurīdu minkum' jazā'an walā shukūran

Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever helped someone and nobody knew?"
Watch the National Geographic video about how trees secretly share with each other.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why do they give?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I give without wanting thanks?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Insan is surah 76. Find ayah 9. The key words li-wajhillah mean for the sake of Allah. The righteous give without wanting even a thank-you. Under the forest floor, trees share food with each other through fungi, quietly and unseen.
Fact: How do fungi help trees share food underground?
Ages 5–8: Secret helper. Do one kind thing for someone at home without telling anyone.
Ages 9–12: Wood wide web. Draw how fungi connect tree roots underground.
