إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيْلِ هِىَ أَشَدُّ وَطْـًۭٔا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا
'Inna nāshi'ata -llay'li hiya 'ashaddu waṭ''an wa'aq'wamu qīlan
Truly the rising by night is most potent for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (framing) the Word (of Prayer and Praise).

Rising at night makes a deeper impression and words come out more clearly.
Start with bismillah.
Sit outside or by a window at night and listen. Ask: "Can you hear sounds from far away?"
Watch the KXAN video about why sound travels further on cold nights.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is special about rising at night?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is it easier to focus at night?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Muzzammil is surah 73. Find ayah 6. The key words nashi'atal-layl mean rising at night. The ayah says it has a stronger effect and makes words clearer. At night the world is quiet, and our hearts can focus on Allah.
Fact: Why do sounds travel further on cold, still nights?
Ages 5–8: Quiet count. Sit still for one minute in the evening. Count how many sounds you hear.
Ages 9–12: Day and night sounds. Record sounds at noon and at night for one minute. Compare them.
Finish with: "I found that sound travels further at night because ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will spend two quiet minutes with Allah before bed."
Action: Spend two quiet minutes with Allah before bed.
