يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًۭا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٍۢ يُوفِضُونَ
Yaw'ma yakh'rujūna mina l-'aj'dāthi sirāʻan ka'annahum' 'ilā nuṣubin yūfiḍūna
The Day whereon they will issue from their sepulchres in sudden haste as if they were rushing to a goal-post (fixed for them),-

On that Day they will rush out of the graves, as if racing to a goal.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Did you know some insects stay underground for seventeen years?"
Watch The Nature Conservancy video Billions of Cicadas Emerge After 17 Years Underground.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How will people come out on that Day?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How will Allah bring everyone out together?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ma'arij is surah 70. Find ayah 43. The key words minal-ajdathi sira'a mean from the graves, hurrying. Cicadas stay underground for years, then billions come out together at the right time. On that Day, everyone will come out together, hurrying to their meeting.
Fact: How do periodical cicadas know when to come out?
Ages 5–8: Cicada life. Draw the cicada's life: underground, coming out, leaving its shell.
Ages 9–12: Prime years. Find out why cicadas come out every 13 or 17 years.
Finish with: "I found that cicadas come out after ___ years."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do a good deed I'd be happy to show on that Day."
Action: Do a good deed you'd be happy to show on that Day.
