And no close friend will ask about a friend.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do you know when a friend is sad?"
Watch the Smile and Learn video What is Empathy?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What won't friends do on that Day?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why will everyone be so busy on that Day?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ma'arij is surah 70. Find ayah 10. The key words la yas'alu hamimun hamima mean no close friend asks about a friend. On that Day everyone will be busy with their own record. That's why we should care for our friends now.
Fact: What is empathy, and how does the brain feel others' feelings?
Ages 5–8: Feelings faces. Draw happy, sad and worried faces. What would you say to a friend with each one?
Ages 9–12: Check-in. Ask three friends or family members how they really are this week.
Finish with: "I found that empathy means ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will check on a friend who seems quiet."
Action: Check on a friend who seems quiet.
