Ask: "What do you do after realising a big mistake?"

Begin Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi's Al-A'raf on Quran.surf and listen for a few minutes.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they say?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is regret the first step back?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 149. When they realised their mistake, they turned to Allah asking for mercy and forgiveness. Regret is the first step of tawbah.

Ages 9–12: Regret. Write why regret is important in tawbah.

• How can you make tawbah?
