قَالَ أَلْقُوا۟ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوْا۟ سَحَرُوٓا۟ أَعْيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَآءُو بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
Qāla 'al'qū . falammā 'al'qaw' saḥarū 'aʻ'yuna nnāssi wa-s'tar'habūhum' wajā'ū bissiḥ'rin ʻaẓīmin
Said Moses: "Throw ye (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them: for they showed a great (feat of) magic.

Musa said, 'You throw,' and when they threw, they tricked people's eyes, frightened them and showed a great trick.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can tricks fool your eyes?"
Begin Nasser Al-Qatami's Al-A'raf on 𝗢𝗦𝗖 𝗞𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗡 𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗭𝗜 and listen for a few minutes.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did their tricks do to people's eyes?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Musa let them go first?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 116. The sorcerers' tricks fooled people's eyes and made them afraid. But tricks are only illusions. Musa calmly let them go first.
Fact: Find Ta-Ha 20:66: their ropes seemed to move.
Ages 5–8: Eye trick. Look at an optical illusion and talk about how eyes can be fooled.
Ages 9–12: Illusions. Write why tricks can't change reality.
Finish with: "Their ropes seemed to ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will stay calm when something looks scary."
Action: Stay calm when something looks scary.
