لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةًۭ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٌۭ وَٰعِيَةٌۭ
Linaj'ʻalahā lakum' tadh'kiratan wataʻiyahā 'udhunun wāʻiyatun
That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance.

Allah made it a reminder, so that ears that truly listen would keep it in memory.
Start with bismillah.
Whisper a short message around the family. Ask: "Did it stay the same?"
Watch the Smile and Learn video The Human Ear and Its Parts.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What kind of ears are praised?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I make my ears 'remembering ears'?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Haqqah is surah 69. Find ayah 12. The key words udhunun wa'iyah mean an ear that holds on and remembers. Hearing is easy; keeping a lesson is harder. Our ears catch sound waves, but our hearts decide what to keep.
Fact: What are the three tiny bones in the ear called?
Ages 5–8: Ear map. Draw the outer, middle and inner ear and colour each part.
Ages 9–12: Memory test. Listen to a short story once, then write down everything you remember. Try again after a day.
Finish with: "I found that the three ear bones are called ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will retell one Quran lesson to someone after I hear it."
