قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
Qul' huwa -lladhī dhara'akum' fī l-'ar'ḍi wa'ilay'hi tuḥ'sharūna
Say: "It is He Who has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered together."

Allah spread you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How many people do you think live on Earth?"
Watch the CBC Kids video What is the World Population?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Where will everyone be gathered?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How will Allah gather all the people who ever lived?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mulk is surah 67. Find ayah 24. The key words dhara'akum fil-ard mean He spread you on the earth. Billions of people live in every land, speaking many languages. One day, all of them will be gathered before Allah.
Fact: How many people live on Earth today?
Ages 5–8: People map. Mark on a map where your family and friends come from.
Ages 9–12: Population facts. Find the five countries with the most people.
Finish with: "I found that about ___ people live on Earth."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be kind to someone different from me."
Action: Be kind to someone different from you.
