قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۖ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
Qul' huwa -lladhī 'ansha'akum' wajaʻala lakumu ssam'ʻa wal-'ab'ṣāra wal-'af''idata . qalīlan mmā tash'kurūna
Say: "It is He Who has created you (and made you grow), and made for you the faculties of hearing, seeing, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give.

Allah brought you into being and gave you hearing, sight and hearts, yet you give so little thanks.
Start with bismillah.
Close your eyes and listen for one minute. Ask: "How many sounds did you hear?"
Watch the Dr. Binocs video The Five Senses.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which gifts are named?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I thank Allah for my senses?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mulk is surah 67. Find ayah 23. The key words as-sam'a wal-absara wal-af'idah mean hearing, sight and hearts. These gifts let us learn, love and understand. Thanking Allah means using them for good.
Fact: How many different colours can the human eye see?
Ages 5–8: Senses walk. Go outside and find something to see, hear, smell, touch and taste (safely).
Ages 9–12: Thank by using. Write one way to use each sense to please Allah.
Finish with: "I found that the eye can see about ___ colours."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah for one sense each day."
Action: Thank Allah for one sense each day.
