وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
How to read it
Wa 'ammā 'in kāna mina l-mukadhdhibīna ḍḍāllīna
And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong,

But if the person was among those who rejected the truth and lost their way...
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How can you tell if something you read is true?"
Watch the CBC Kids News video Can you trust the news?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which group does this ayah describe?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I make sure I follow the truth?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Waqi'ah is surah 56. Find ayah 92. The key words al-mukadhdhibin ad-dallin mean those who denied and went astray. They heard the truth but called it false and followed the wrong path. We learn to check what we hear, stay with the truth, and keep asking Allah for guidance.
Fact: What questions can help us check if a story is true?
Ages 5–8: True or tricky. An adult says sentences and you decide if each one is true or tricky.
Ages 9–12: Source check. Pick a news story and answer: who wrote it, how do they know, and can it be checked?
Finish with: "I found that one question to check a story is ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will ask Allah to guide me in each salah."
Action: Ask Allah to guide you in each salah.
