فَسَلَٰمٌۭ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
How to read it
Fassalāmun llaka min' 'aṣ'ḥābi l-yamīni
(For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand.

Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What are some polite ways to say hello and goodbye?"
Watch the Smile and Learn video Saying Hello and Goodbye.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What greeting do the people of the right receive?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is peace the greeting of Jannah?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Waqi'ah is surah 56. Find ayah 91. The key words salamun laka mean peace be upon you. The people of the right are welcomed with peace by their own companions. Every time we say assalamu alaykum, we practise the greeting of Jannah.
Fact: How do people greet each other in three different countries?
Ages 5–8: Salam five. Greet five people with salam today and smile.
Ages 9–12: Greeting map. Mark three countries on a map and write how people greet each other there.
Finish with: "I found that in ___, people greet each other by ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will greet someone who is often left out."
Action: Greet someone who is often left out.
