Opening the ayah…
لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًۭا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
Law' nashā'u lajaʻalnāhu ḥuṭāman faẓaltum' tafakkahūna
Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment,

4-I guide
If Allah wished, He could turn it into broken dry straw, and you would be left wondering.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens when it doesn't rain for a very long time?"
Watch the Peekaboo Kidz video Drought.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What could Allah do to the crops?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do farmers pray for rain?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Waqi'ah is surah 56. Find ayah 65. The key word hutama means broken, dried-up stalks. In a drought, green fields can turn brown and crack. Farmers do their best, but every harvest depends on Allah. That's why believers ask Him for rain and thank Him for every crop.
Fact: What is a drought?
Ages 5–8: Leaf test. Compare a fresh green leaf and a dry brown leaf. Squeeze each one gently.
Ages 9–12: Saving water. List five ways farms and gardens can save water in dry times.
Finish with: "I found that a drought is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a for rain for people in dry places."
Action: Make du'a for rain for people in dry places.
