4-I guide
They kept on stubbornly doing a terrible wrong.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How does something become a habit?"
Watch the SciShow Psych video How to Form a Habit.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did these people keep doing?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can someone stop a bad habit?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Waqi'ah is surah 56. Find ayah 46. The key words yusirruna and al-hinth al-'azim mean they insisted on the great wrong. Many scholars say this great wrong was associating partners with Allah. The problem was not one mistake but refusing to stop. Whenever we slip, we can say sorry to Allah and change, and He loves those who turn back.
Fact: About how many days does it take to form a new habit?
Ages 5–8: Habit tracker. Pick one good habit and put a sticker on a chart each day you do it.
Ages 9–12: Swap plan. Choose one habit you want to stop and plan a good habit to put in its place.
Finish with: "I found that a habit takes about ___ days to form."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say astaghfirullah and fix it when I make a mistake."
Action: Say astaghfirullah and fix it when you make a mistake.
