وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
Wa kānū yaqūlūna 'a'idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban waʻiẓāman 'a'innā lamab'ʻūthūna
And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?-

They used to ask whether, after turning into dust and bones, they would really be brought back.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How many bones are in your body?"
Watch the Peekaboo Kidz video Bones.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What question did these people ask?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "If Allah made my bones once, can He make them again?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Waqi'ah is surah 56. Find ayah 47. The key words turaban wa 'izaman mean dust and bones. Some people doubted that Allah could bring them back to life. But Allah built every bone in our bodies the first time. Making them again is easy for Him.
Fact: How many bones does an adult have?
Ages 5–8: Bone hunt. Gently feel your elbow, knee and wrist. Can you feel the bones underneath?
Ages 9–12: Bone repair. Find out how a broken bone heals itself.
Finish with: "I found that an adult has ___ bones."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will drink milk or eat something good for my bones each day."
Action: Drink milk or eat something good for your bones each day.
