Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does the Quran describe the Fire?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ar-Rahman is surah 55. Find ayah 44. The key words hamim an mean water boiling at its hottest. Lava can be over a thousand degrees, far hotter than any oven. This ayah is the last mention of the Fire in the surah. Straight after it, the surah turns to gardens and springs for those who feared standing before their Lord.
Fact: How hot can lava get?
Ages 5–8: Hot and cool. Feel warm and cool water in two bowls and say alhamdulillah for cool water.
Ages 9–12: Surah turn. Read ayat 43 to 46 and describe how the mood changes.
Finish with: "I found that lava can be about ___ degrees."
