4-I guide
Everyone in the skies and the earth asks of Him, and every day He attends to some new matter.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How often do baby birds ask for food?"
Watch the Nature on PBS video Feeding Baby Birds.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who asks Allah for what they need?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can Allah listen to everyone at once?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ar-Rahman is surah 55. Find ayah 29. The key words kulla yawmin huwa fi sha'n mean every day He is in some matter. Baby birds open their beaks and call, and food comes. Every creature, in the skies and on earth, needs Allah. Each day He gives, heals, forgives and cares for countless creatures at once.
Fact: About how many kinds of birds are there in the world?
Ages 5–8: Asking jar. Write or draw one thing you will ask Allah for each day.
Ages 9–12: Today's matters. List ten things Allah is taking care of right now, from rain to heartbeats.
Finish with: "I found that there are about ___ kinds of birds."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a for one thing I need and one thing someone else needs."
Action: Make du'a for yourself and others.
