4-I guide
So which of the gifts of your Lord will you two deny?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How does a clock keep track of time?"
Watch the Maddie's Do You Know? video How do Clocks work?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "After hearing that everything passes, what blessing do we have right now?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is time one of Allah's gifts?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ar-Rahman is surah 55. Find ayah 28. The key word tukadhdhiban means you both deny. If everything in this world passes, then the time we have now is precious. Each hour is a chance to pray, learn, help and say sorry. Time is a blessing we can spend well or waste.
Fact: How many hours do you spend on different things in a day?
Ages 5–8: Day pie. Draw a circle and colour how much of your day is sleep, school, play and family.
Ages 9–12: Time audit. Track how you spend your time for one day and find one hour to use better.
Finish with: "I found that I spend about ___ hours a day on ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will swap ten minutes of screen time for something good."
Action: Swap ten minutes of screen time for something good.
