Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What do you do when the fire alarm rings at school?"

Watch the Twinkl USA video Fire Safety for Kids.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will the deniers say on that Day?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I make that Day easy for me?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qamar is surah 54. Find ayah 8. The key word 'asir means hard or difficult. In a fire drill, everyone stops what they are doing and walks quickly to safety. On the Last Day, everyone will hurry towards the Caller. Those who denied will find it hard, while believers who prepared will find hope.

Fact: Why do schools practise fire drills?

Ages 5–8: Home drill. Plan with your family the quickest safe way out of your home and practise it.

Ages 9–12: Prepare now. List three things that make a hard day easier when you prepare for it.

Finish with: "I found that schools practise drills so that ___."

Talk together:

• Why does practice make hard moments easier?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What can make the Last Day easier for us?
• How can we help each other get ready?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will do one good deed each day as practice for that Day."

• Practise one good deed daily.
• Do a home drill.
• Share prepare now.
• Next time: the next ayah (54:9) says the people of Nuh denied before them. Explore it together!

Action: Do one good deed each day as practice for that Day.
