خُشَّعًا أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌۭ مُّنتَشِرٌۭ
Khushshaʻan 'ab'ṣāruhum' yakh'rujūna mina l-'aj'dāthi ka'annahum' jarādun mmuntashirun
They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad,

With eyes lowered, they will come out like locusts spreading everywhere.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How can a quiet grasshopper turn into part of a huge swarm?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What are people compared to?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why are people compared to locusts?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qamar is surah 54. Find ayah 7. The key word jarad means locusts. When locusts swarm, millions fill the sky, rushing in every direction. On that Day, huge crowds of people will come out humbly, with lowered eyes, hurrying forward together.
Fact: How many locusts can be in one swarm?
Ages 5–8: Swarm count. Throw a handful of paper scraps in the air and try to count them as they fall.
Ages 9–12: Grasshopper to locust. Find out what changes in a grasshopper's body and behaviour when it joins a swarm.
Finish with: "I found that a swarm can have about ___ locusts."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will help someone without wanting praise."
Action: Help someone without wanting praise.
