Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Where did water come from, as well as the sky?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can water come up out of the ground?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qamar is surah 54. Find ayah 12. The key word 'uyunan means springs. Water came down from the sky and up from the ground until the two met, exactly as Allah had decided. When too much water arrives at once, rivers overflow. Allah controls every drop.

Fact: What makes a river overflow its banks?

Ages 5–8: Sponge soak. Pour water on a sponge until it can't hold any more. What happens next?

Ages 9–12: Flood safety. Find out three ways people stay safe in a flood.

Finish with: "I found that rivers overflow when ___."
