وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ
Wa qaw'ma nūḥin mmin qab'lu . 'innahum' kānū hum' 'aẓ'lama wa'aṭ'ghā
And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors,

And the people of Nuh before them, who were even more unjust and rebellious.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do floods shape the land?"
Watch the Bureau of Meteorology video Understanding Floods.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How are Nuh's people described?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why were they called the most unjust?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Najm is surah 53. Find ayah 52. The key words azlam wa atgha mean more unjust and more rebellious. Prophet Nuh called his people for many hundreds of years, yet most refused and mocked him. Their wrong went on for so long that they were among the worst. Floods today remind us of the power Allah holds over water.
Fact: How do weather services warn people about floods?
Ages 5–8: Water power. Pour water down a sand slope and watch how it changes the shape.
Ages 9–12: Long patience. Write what Prophet Nuh's patience can teach us.
Finish with: "I found that flood warnings are given by ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be patient when someone doesn't listen to me."
Action: Be patient when someone doesn't listen to you.
