أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌۭ
'A'idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban . dhālika raj'ʻun[m] baʻīdun
"What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)."

4-I guide
They asked how, after they died and became dust, they could return; that seemed far-fetched to them.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens to leaves after they fall in autumn?"
Watch the Nova & Pip video What Happens to Leaves After They Fall?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the disbelievers think was impossible?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "If Allah made us once, can He make us again?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Qaf is surah 50. Find ayah 3. The key word turab means dust or soil. The disbelievers thought it was impossible to live again after turning to dust. But every autumn, leaves fall and break down into soil, and that soil feeds new plants in spring. Bringing life from dust is easy for the One who made us the first time.
Fact: What tiny creatures help turn fallen leaves into soil?
Ages 5–8: Leaf jar. Put leaves and soil in a jar, keep it damp, and check it every week.
Ages 9–12: Soil helpers. Make a chart of three decomposers and what each one does.
Finish with: "I found that leaves are turned into soil by ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will notice one sign of new life and say subhanallah."
Action: Notice one sign of new life and say subhanallah.
