وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
Wa law' 'annahum' ṣabarū ḥattā takh'ruja 'ilay'him' lakāna khay'ran llahum' . wa-llahu ghafūrun rraḥīmun
If only they had patience until thou couldst come out to them, it would be best for them: but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Waiting patiently until the Prophet came out would have been wiser, yet Allah still forgives and shows mercy.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What helps you wait when you really want something now?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What would have been better for the people who shouted?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is waiting sometimes the kindest thing?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hujurat is surah 49. Find ayah 5. The key word sabaru means they were patient. If the visitors had simply waited for the Prophet to come out, it would have been better for them. Allah still ends the ayah with forgiveness and mercy, because He loves to forgive people who learn.
Fact: What are three things you can do while you wait?
Ages 5–8: Waiting game. Wait for your turn in a game without interrupting.
Ages 9–12: Patience tracker. Note each time you waited patiently this week.
Finish with: "I found that while waiting I can ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will wait my turn to speak without interrupting."
Action: Wait your turn to speak without interrupting.
