Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What reward do the polite people get?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does my voice show what is in my heart?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hujurat is surah 49. Find ayah 3. The key word yaghuddun means they lower. People who speak softly and respectfully show that their hearts are humble and mindful of Allah. Allah promises them forgiveness and a great reward for something as simple as gentle speech.

Fact: What are three polite words we can use every day?

Ages 5–8: Polite words. Use "please", "thank you" and "excuse me" as many times as you can today.

Ages 9–12: Polite survey. Count how often people around you use polite words in one day.

Finish with: "I found that three polite words are ___."

Talk together:

• Why is a gentle voice a sign of a good heart?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• How do you feel when someone speaks gently to you?
• What polite habit would you like to build?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will say please and thank you every time I ask for something."
