ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ
Dhālika bi'annahum' karihū mā 'anzala -llahu fa'aḥ'baṭa 'aʻ'mālahum'
That is because they hate the Revelation of Allah; so He has made their deeds fruitless.

That is because they disliked what Allah revealed, so He made their deeds worthless.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do you feel when you hear the Quran recited beautifully?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did these people dislike?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I grow to love the Quran more?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Muhammad is surah 47. Find ayah 9. The key word karihu means they disliked. Some people disliked the Quran because it asked them to change. Believers grow to love it, because it brings light, guidance and calm. Love for the Quran makes our deeds meaningful.
Fact: How many surahs are there in the Quran?
Ages 5–8: Favourite surah. Choose your favourite short surah and recite it to someone.
Ages 9–12: Quran love. Write three reasons why people come to love the Quran.
Finish with: "I found that the Quran has ___ surahs."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will listen to a beautiful recitation every day."
