لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Lā 'ilāha 'illā huwa yuḥ'yī wayumītu . rabbukum' warabbu 'ābā'ikumu l-'awwalīna
There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors.

There is no god except Him; He gives life and takes it, and He is Lord of you and of all your ancestors.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does it mean that Allah is One?"
Watch the Islamic Cartoon By Tara video Allah is One.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Whose Lord is Allah, according to the ayah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why can't there be more than one God?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ad-Dukhan is surah 44. Find ayah 8. The key words yuhyi wa yumit mean He gives life and death. Allah alone is worthy of worship; this is called tawhid. He gave life to us and to our great-great-grandparents, all the way back to Adam. He is the Lord of every generation.
Fact: What is the first pillar of Islam?
Ages 5–8: One finger. Hold up one finger and say "Allah is One" five times a day this week.
Ages 9–12: Generations chain. Draw a chain from you back to Adam, with Allah as Lord of every link.
Finish with: "I found that the first pillar is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say 'Allah is One' with my finger raised in every tashahhud and think about it."
Action: Think about tawhid in tashahhud.
