إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
'Illā man rraḥima -llahu . 'innahu huwa l-ʻazīzu rraḥīmu
Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.

Except those Allah has mercy on, for He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How much do you think Allah loves you?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who will be helped on that Day?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I be one of those Allah shows mercy to?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ad-Dukhan is surah 44. Find ayah 42. The key words man rahima mean whoever He shows mercy to. Right after saying no one can help, the ayah opens a door of hope: Allah's mercy. He is al-'Aziz, all-powerful, and ar-Rahim, the Most Merciful. His power and mercy go together. We ask for His mercy through du'a, kindness and good deeds.
Fact: How many surahs begin with "In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind"?
Ages 5–8: Mercy jar. Add a heart to a jar each time you show mercy to someone.
Ages 9–12: Power and mercy. Write why it matters that Allah is both all-powerful and most merciful.
Finish with: "I found that ___ surahs begin with the bismillah."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will ask Allah for His mercy after every prayer."
Action: Ask Allah for His mercy after every prayer.
