That is the Day when no friend can help another in any way, and no one will be helped.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes a friend a true friend?"
Watch the FreeQuranEducation video Beware of Your Friend.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What can't friends do on that Day?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What kind of friend helps me now and later?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ad-Dukhan is surah 44. Find ayah 41. The key word mawlan means a friend or protector. On the Day of Judgement, each person stands for themselves, and friends cannot carry our deeds. That is why good friends matter now: they help us do good while there is still time.
Fact: What does the word mawla mean?
Ages 5–8: Friend helpers. Draw a friend who helps you do good things.
Ages 9–12: Friend audit. Write how your closest friends help you get closer to Allah.
Finish with: "I found that mawla means ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will invite a friend to do a good deed with me."
Action: Invite a friend to do a good deed with you.
