وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
Wa 'an llā taʻ'lū ʻalā-llahi . 'innī 'ātīkum bissulṭānin mmubīnin
"And be not arrogant as against Allah: for I come to you with authority manifest.

And do not set yourselves above Allah, for I come to you with clear authority.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens when someone thinks they are the most important person in the world?"
Watch the Office of the Mufti video The Story of Pharaoh's Tyranny and Arrogance. A grown-up may like to watch it first.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Musa warn Pharaoh against?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Pharaoh think he was so great?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ad-Dukhan is surah 44. Find ayah 19. The key words la ta'lu mean do not rise up proudly. Pharaoh even claimed to be a god. Musa warned him not to raise himself above Allah, and showed clear signs. Arrogance makes people blind to the truth, no matter how powerful they are.
Fact: What did Pharaoh claim to be?
Ages 5–8: Tall and humble. Stand tall, then bow down, and talk about which shows humility before Allah.
Ages 9–12: Power and pride. Write how pride harmed Pharaoh.
Finish with: "I found that Pharaoh claimed to be ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make my sujood longer and thank Allah for my gifts."
Action: Make your sujood longer and thank Allah for your gifts.
