Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How is the messenger described?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why was Pharaoh's people's test so big?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ad-Dukhan is surah 44. Find ayah 17. The key word fatanna means We tested. Pharaoh ruled Egypt and treated the Children of Israel harshly. Allah sent Musa, a noble messenger, to him. Power and wealth were a test for Pharaoh: would he use them justly?

Fact: Which river runs through Egypt?

Ages 5–8: Story stones. Draw Musa, the river and a palace on stones and use them to retell the story.

Ages 9–12: Power test. Write how power can be a test, and how a good leader should use it.

Finish with: "I found that Egypt's river is the ___."
