وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّنِى بَرَآءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ
Wa 'idh' qāla 'ib'rāhīmu li'abīhi waqaw'mihī 'innanī barā'un mmimmā taʻ'budūna

Remember how Ibrahim told his father and his people that he wanted nothing to do with what they worshipped,
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How brave would you need to be to disagree with your whole town?"
Watch the Stories of the Prophets video Prophet Ibrahim, Part 1.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "To whom did Ibrahim speak?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How did Ibrahim stay kind to his father while disagreeing?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 26. The key word bara'un means free from, separate from. Ibrahim's people, even his own father, worshipped idols. He told them clearly that he would not join in. Ibrahim was brave about the truth but still gentle and respectful to his father.
Fact: What was Ibrahim's father's name according to the Quran?
Ages 5–8: Brave and kind. Practise saying "No, thank you" kindly when asked to do something wrong.
Ages 9–12: Respect and truth. Write how you can disagree with someone and still be respectful.
Finish with: "I found that Ibrahim's father was called ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will disagree politely when something is wrong."
Action: Disagree politely when something is wrong.
