In this same way those who used to deny Allah's signs were turned away.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have your eyes ever played a trick on you?"
Watch the BBC Earth Kids video Brain Tricks To Fool Your Friends.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who were turned away?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can people be tricked away from the truth?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ghafir is surah 40. Find ayah 63. The key word yu'fakun means they are turned away or deluded. Our eyes can be tricked by optical illusions. In the same way, people who keep denying Allah's signs can be tricked into thinking the truth is false. Staying close to the Quran keeps us from being fooled.
Fact: What is an optical illusion?
Ages 5–8: Illusion fun. Look at a simple optical illusion and talk about how our eyes can be fooled.
Ages 9–12: Truth test. Write three questions to ask yourself before believing something you hear online.
Finish with: "I found that an optical illusion is ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will check before believing or sharing something I hear."
Action: Check before believing or sharing something you hear.
