4-I guide
Ha and Mim begin this surah, and Allah knows best what they mean.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does it feel like to be forgiven?"
Watch the Ahl Quran video Surat 040 Ghafir. Watch only the opening few minutes.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which letters open this surah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is this surah named The Forgiver?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ghafir is surah 40, and it has eighty-five ayat. The key word ghafir means the One who forgives, taken from ayah 3. It is the first of the seven Ha-Mim surahs. The surah tells of angels praying for believers, the brave believer in Pharaoh's court, and the promise: call on Me and I will answer you.
Fact: In which juz does Surah Ghafir begin?
Ages 5–8: Forgiveness flower. Draw a flower and write on each petal something you can forgive.
Ages 9–12: Surah sneak peek. Skim the translation and find three different stories or scenes in this surah.
Finish with: "I found that Surah Ghafir begins in juz ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will forgive someone quickly when they say sorry."
Action: Forgive someone quickly when they say sorry.
