Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What words would you want to be the last words of a great story?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will be said at the very end?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does the surah end with praise?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zumar is surah 39. Ayah 75 is the last ayah. The key words rabbil alamin mean Lord of all the worlds. After all judgement is complete, with full fairness, the angels around the Throne glorify Allah, and everything ends with praise to Him. Surah Az-Zumar began with sincere worship and ends with the whole creation praising its Lord.

Fact: Which other surah also ends with the words? Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds?

Ages 5–8: Praise circle. Sit in a circle and each person says one reason to praise Allah.

Ages 9–12: Surah circle. Draw a circle with the main lessons of Surah Az-Zumar: sincerity, gratitude, mercy, the two groups and praise.

Finish with: "I found that the surah is ___."

Talk together:

• What part of Surah Az-Zumar will you remember?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why does everything end with praise to Allah?
• How can we praise Allah every day?
• What would you like to ask about this surah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will end each day by praising Allah for three things."

• Recite Surah Az-Zumar (or part of it) with someone at home.
• Sit in a praise circle.
• Share your surah circle.
• Next time: the next surah, Ghafir (40), shows Allah as the Forgiver. Explore it together!
