4-I guide
I was also ordered to lead the way among those who surrender to Allah.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does it mean to go first?"
Watch the Learning Tales video Who Are Muslims?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the Prophet want to be first in?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I be first in doing good?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zumar is surah 39. Find ayah 12. The key words awwal al-muslimin mean the first of the Muslims. The Prophet was commanded to lead the way in submitting to Allah. Being first in good is a beautiful race: first to help, first to pray, first to say sorry.
Fact: How many pillars of Islam are there?
Ages 5–8: First helper. Be the first to help at the next meal: set the table or clear up.
Ages 9–12: Race to good. Make a list of good things you could be first to do this week.
Finish with: "I found that there are ___ pillars."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be first to help when someone needs it."
Action: Be first to help when someone needs it.
