Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Does something have to be old and familiar to be true?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the deniers claim about the message?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How do we know the Quran is not made up?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 7. The key word ikhtilaq means something invented or made up. The deniers said they had never heard of worshipping one God, so it must be fake. But newness does not make something false. The Quran came from Allah, and its words have been kept exactly the same for more than fourteen hundred years.

Fact: In which month did the Quran first begin to come down?

Ages 5–8: Same every time. Ask two family members to recite Surah Al-Fatihah and notice the words match exactly.

Ages 9–12: Kept safe. Write three ways Muslims have kept the Quran safe, such as memorising it.

Finish with: "I found that it was the month of ___."

Talk together:

• Why did the deniers call the message an invention?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• How has the Quran been kept the same?
• What helps you feel sure the Quran is true?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will memorise or revise one short surah."

• Revise a short surah.
• Check it is the same every time.
• Share how it was kept safe.
• Next time: the next ayah (38:8) asks why the message came to him. Explore it together!
