That is how it is, and the people who overstep the limits will have a dreadful place to return to.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why do roads have signs warning of danger ahead?"
Watch the Islamic Kids National video Du'a That Keeps the Hellfire Away.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who will have a bad return?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What does it mean to overstep the limits?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 55. The key word at-taghin means those who go too far and break limits. After describing Jannah, the Quran gently warns about the opposite path. Allah tells us both so that we choose well. The good news is that turning back to Allah closes the door to that bad return.
Fact: Which ayah at the very end of Al-Baqarah asks Allah to pardon us, forgive us and have mercy on us?
Ages 5–8: Limits line. Use tape to make a line on the floor and practise stopping at it, like stopping at Allah's limits.
Ages 9–12: Two paths chart. Draw two paths from this surah: the mindful and the transgressors.
Finish with: "I found that the du'a is Al-Baqarah ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will recite the last two ayat of Al-Baqarah before sleeping."
