وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُۥدَ سُلَيْمَٰنَ ۚ نِعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ
Wa wahab'nā lidāwuda sulay'māna . niʻ'ma l-ʻab'du . 'innahu 'awwābun
To David We gave Solomon (for a son),- How excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn (to Us)!

We gave Dawud a son, Sulaiman; what a fine servant he was, always turning back to Us.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes a child a gift to their parents?"
Watch the StoriesOfThePs video The Amazing Story of Prophet Solomon.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How does Allah praise Sulaiman?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What did Sulaiman learn from his father?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 30. The key word wahabna means We gave as a gift. Sulaiman was a gift to Dawud, and he too became a king and a prophet. He understood the speech of birds and ants. Allah praises him with the same word used for Dawud: awwab, someone who keeps turning back to Allah.
Fact: What is the number of the surah named after the ant?
Ages 5–8: Thank-you hug. Give your parents a hug and tell them one thing you learned from them.
Ages 9–12: Father and son. Write two ways Sulaiman was like his father Dawud.
Finish with: "I found that the surah is number ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will help my parents with something without being asked."
Action: Help your parents with something without being asked.
